COVER CROP FIELD DAY
Aug 02, 2018   10:23 AM

COVER CROP FIELD DAY

Runnels Soil & Water Conservation District and the Natural Resource Conservation Service are hosting a field day for a soil health cover crop demonstration at the Fred Wilde Farm at 305 CR 115 in Ballinger at 10 a.m. on August 2.

Cover crops can be a little bit of trial and error at first, but overall the cover crops improve soil health and soil function, reduce input cost and increase profitability.

You are invited to come look over the cover crop and discuss different seeds that were planted, and which ones worked best in our area and see a demonstration on the impact of rain fall on healthy soil. NRCS personnel will be on site to answer questions and discuss the benefits to soil health.
