Gifted and Talented Nominations Sought

Ballinger Elementary School is in the process of assessing 1st – 5th grade students for the Gifted and Talented Program. This program is designed to meet the needs of those children who are identified as having superior intellectual abilities, or potential for outstanding academic achievement, and who excel consistently or who show the potential to excel in specific subject matter aptitude or in general intellectual ability.

If you wish to have your child assessed for this program, please notify your child’s homeroom teacher or email Christy Kvapil, christy.kvapil@ballingerisd.net and request a parent nomination form. Requests must be made by Monday, September 13. Nomination forms to assess will be sent home on Monday, September 13, with a return date of Friday, September 17.

Once permission to assess has been granted, the students will undergo a series of assessments to determine eligibility. After assessments are complete, the campus Gifted and Talented Selection Committee will meet to review results and make decisions regarding placement into the program.
