Lucille Elizabeth Fischer Rohmfeld

Lucille Elizabeth Fischer Rohmfeld, age 86, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023, in San Angelo, Texas.

Lucille was born June 23, 1937, at home in Miles, Texas, to Wilhelm “Willie” and Isabella (Halfmann) Fischer, the eighth of ten children.

Lucille married Dennis T. Rohmfeld, Sr., on September 15, 1953, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen. Lucille and Dennis had four children: Joan, John, Lucille, and Dennis Jr.,

Shortly after Lucille and Dennis married, Dennis joined the US Army and served during the Korean War. Lucille accompanied Dennis while in the Army, stationed in El Paso, Texas, Aberdeen, Maryland, and Fairbanks, Alaska. Returning to Texas in 1956 Lucille worked several jobs in the shoe factory, Safeway Grocery, and the First National Bank in Ballinger. Finally, deciding to retire with Dennis to raise cattle and enjoy playing with grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout the years. Dennis and Lucille were members of St. Joseph Church.

She was preceded in death by two sons, John Rohmfeld and Dennis Rohmfeld, Jr., and her husband Dennis Rohmfeld, Sr., and all of her siblings: Agnes ‟Blonde” Parker, Roy Fischer, Magdeline ‟Micky” Harris, Laurine ‟Aunt Dick” Goetz, Venita Bagwell, Alton ‟Sonny” Fischer, Mary Frances Williams, Willie Hugo ‟Buddy” Fischer, and Willia May ‟Mutzie” Briley.

Lucille is survived by daughters, Joan Tate and Lucy Kocich and her husband, John. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Starla McLaurin and wife, Elizabeth; and Kayla Woodard and her husband, Wade; three grandsons, Joshua Kocich, Matthew Kocich, and Paul Kocich; five great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Miller, Ashley Miller, Brady Smith, Mandy Jo Woodard, and Jack Woodard.

A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Lange Funeral Home, Ballinger, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 10:00 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena with burial following in St. Boniface in Olfen, Texas.
