Norma Jo Collins
Oct 01, 2022   11:05 AM

Norma Jo Collins, 71, of Winters, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 18, 2022.

She was born on January 3, 1951, to James and La Dola Evelyn (Kelley) Bates in Midland, Texas. She married the love of her life, David Mark Collins, on March 3, 1982, in Winters, Texas, and together they shared 40 beautiful years before her passing. Norma worked as a licensed vocational nurse for 38 years at North Runnels Hospital and dedicated her life to serving others. She showed compassion and love to everyone equally; not a judgmental bone in her body. Norma was also known to make the best coleslaw, and deeply loved her grand and great-grandchildren with all of her heart.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents James and La Dola, her son James Wesley Pounds, and her siblings Brenda Pounds, Sandy Thompson, Sue Bates Watkins, and brother John Locke.

She left behind a loving husband, Mark Collins, her daughters Kyla Collins of Winters, Texas, and Kim Beal and husband Chad of Coleman, Texas. Norma also leaves behind six grandchildren Jaron Garcia, Kira Collins, Kaelin Roman, Mason Monroe and wife Sarah, Baylee West and husband Logan, and Jolie Monroe. She will be greatly missed by her four great-grandchildren, Lucas Garcia, Braxton Garcia, Kathryn Monroe, and Samson Lee West. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Missie, Scott, Shannon, Bobby, Kim, Kyle, and Kari. Norma will also be lovingly remembered by her nursing family Barbara Gray and Elaine Miller.

A private family service will be held for Norma at a later date. Guests may register online at www.ballingerfuneralhome.com
