Olga Matthiesen Miller
Feb 09, 2019   02:17 PM

Olga Matthiesen Miller, 92, of San Angelo passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her children.

She was born August 9, 1926 to Joe and Rosa (Englert) Matthiesen in Olfen, Texas. Olga worked as a photograph re-toucher for Wallace Laboratories for many years. She married Floyd Miller on October 16, 1958 in Clovis, New Mexico. They shared sixteen years together before his passing in 1974. She grew up in Olfen, Texas on a family farm. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Olga lived a long happy life full of adventure. One of the highlights of her life was when she flew to California to visit her son. It was a week of pure joy. She loved to go to her daughter’s house and enjoy the country life. She spent a lot of time and made many memories at home with her oldest son. Some of her favorite things to do included playing bingo and visiting with friends and family. She loved to just sit and admire her grandkids from afar while they played.

Olga is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her sisters Irene Mazur and Sister Rosaria Matthiesen; brothers, Fr. Monroe Matthiesen, Bishop Leroy Matthiesen and Victor Matthiesen.

She is survived by her daughter, Norma Ratliff and husband, Jesse of Corpus Christi; sons, Gary Miller of San Angelo, James Miller and wife, Stacy of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Cody and wife Kelsey, Crystal, Ashlyn, and Ellee; and brothers, Arnold Matthiesen and wife, Charlene of Rowena and Norbert Matthiesen and wife, Billie Jean of Brady, and Sister-In-Law, Bernice Matthiesen of San Angelo and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday at Lange Funeral Home Chapel in Ballinger. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Olfen.
