High school coaches, athletes, and fans across the Big Country and Heart of Texas will be watching closely Monday morning as the University Interscholastic League releases its latest reclassification and realignment. The new district alignments for football, basketball, and volleyball will be announced at nine a.m. and will apply to the 2026–27 and 2027–28 school years.

Schools currently in District Five Two-A — including Ballinger, Bangs, Coleman, De Leon, Hamilton, and Hico — could see changes, depending on updated enrollment figures submitted to the UIL last fall. The UIL has already released conference cutoff numbers, with Class Two-A ranging from 105 to 245 students.

District changes could mean new rivals, longer road trips, or teams moving up or down in classification. Full realignment details will be posted online and released to the media Monday morning at 9am.
