The Ballinger Bearcats will be well represented at the state track meet May 14th in Austin, highlighted by a record-setting relay and a regional champion hurdler.
The Bearcats 4-by-400 meter relay team of Hunter Peacock, Brodie Wilde, Julio Luna and Manny Gonzalez qualified for state after breaking the school record with a time of 3:22.56 at the regional meet.
Also advancing for Ballinger, Ashtyn Wilson, who captured the regional championship in the 100-meter hurdles to earn a trip to state.
In Winters, the Lady Blizzards 4-by-100 meter relay team of Kaidence Mullins, Laila Aguero, Hannah Casey and Scarlett Betz placed second at the Region One 2A meet to secure their spot in Austin.
All will compete against the state’s top athletes at the state meet, May 14th in Austin
