Miles is gearing up for its 49th Annual Cotton Fest this Saturday, September 13. The full day kicks off with a pancake breakfast from 6 to 9 a.m. at Weatherby Hall, followed by a Cotton Stalk Contest from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Young Farmer Show Complex.
A lively downtown parade begins at 10 a.m., with line-up on Third Street starting at 9 a.m. After the parade, explore arts, crafts, and food booths in the city park, plus family fun in the Kid’s Area beginning around 10:30 a.m.
For a taste of local flavor, the cook-off features brisket, chicken, ribs, beans and even margaritas—with a cook’s meeting at 9 a.m. in MPA Park. The day caps off with a Queen’s Contest at 6 p.m. in City Park.
Absolutely no pets or glass bottles allowed. Cotton Fest T-shirts will be on sale for $20 each. FMI: call Miles City Hall or contact Paula Rankin or Debbie Elguezabal.
