The Mighty Ballinger Bearcat Band has announced its new student leadership team for the 2026-27 school year.
Selected as drum majors are Alana McDuffee, Kennedee Franke, and Brylee Lancaster. Named color guard co-captains are Deesa Drennan and Lillian Robbins.
The announcement comes after another strong year for the Bearcat Band, which continued its tradition of excellence by earning Sweepstakes honors during UIL competition season. Sweepstakes awards are given to bands receiving top division ratings in marching, concert, and sight-reading events.
The Mighty Bearcat Band also captured first-place honors among 2A schools at the Big Country Marching Festival and followed that with another top division performance at the Concho Classic in San Angelo last fall.
Band director Janet Wilson said the newly selected student leaders will help guide the program as preparations begin for summer rehearsals and the upcoming football and marching season
