Ballinger is gearing up for a full day of celebration tomorrow, as the 51st Annual Texas State Festival of Ethnic Cultures takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Runnels County Courthouse lawn.

The free event will feature a wide variety of cultural food booths, arts and crafts vendors, live entertainment, and plenty of activities for the whole family.

The Carnegie Library will also host its popular Historical Home Tour and quilt raffle. Wristbands are 15 dollars for adults, while children 12 and under get in free. Keep in mind—wristbands must be purchased in advance at the library, with no sales at the tour homes.

The Mid-West Texas Artist’s Guild is also joining in the excitement, inviting the public to an open house today from 10 to 6, and again tomorrow from 10 to 4 at their studio at 109 South 9th Street, showcasing local talent.

And once the festival wraps up tomorrow evening, the City of Ballinger Fire Department keeps the celebration going with a free movie night at 106 North 9th Street, in the parking lot behind the fire station. Families can enjoy free popcorn, chopped brisket sandwiches, hot dogs, and water while supplies last. The movie starts at dusk—so bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and your favorite snacks for a relaxing night under the stars.
