BALLINGER ISD ISSUES “STRIKE ONE” WARNING TO SPORTS FANS

SHARE NOW

Ballinger ISD is warning athletic spectators that inappropriate behavior could soon cost the district officials — and fans — at school sporting events.

In a letter released Monday, district administrators say Ballinger ISD is now at “Strike One” under Texas law after a recent spectator was removed from a game. Senate Bill 2929 allows officials to immediately eject fans for disruptive behavior, with no warning required.

If the district reaches a third incident, Ballinger could lose game officials for the remainder of the school year. Without officials, games cannot be played.

Administrators say a second strike would force the district to host UIL events without spectators for the rest of the 2025–26 school year.

District leaders stress that positive support, respect for officials, and good sportsmanship are essential to creating a safe environment for student-athletes.

Fans removed from a BISD athletic event may also face suspension or a permanent ban from future games.
