A Ballinger man is dead following a two-vehicle crash involving a semi in Irion County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says the crash happened around 6:38 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 67 near Bryant Lane.
Troopers say 67-year-old Agapito Sanchez Martinez of Ballinger was driving a pickup and trailer westbound when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, overcorrected, and crossed into the eastbound lane.
Authorities say the pickup collided with an oncoming Mack tractor-trailer driven by 54-year-old Avery Arrendondo of San Angelo.
Both vehicles caught fire following the impact.
Justice of the Peace Chad Scow pronounced Sanchez Martinez dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
DPS says both drivers were wearing seatbelts. The crash remains under investigation.
