A 33-year-old Ballinger man died in a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Runnels County, the Texas Department of Public Safety confirms.
At around 8:35 p.m., authorities responded to County Road 287, about seven miles west of Ballinger, where a westbound pickup veered off the road for unknown reasons. The driver over-corrected, skidded through a ditch and overturned in an open field. DPS reports the driver—identified as Anthony Miguel Leija—was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Road conditions were clear and dry. The department says no further updates are available at this time.
