Ballinger Mayor Dawni Seymore has resigned her position after moving outside the city limits, a requirement of the Ballinger City Charter. Seymore, who has served as mayor for three terms, said it has been an honor to work with city council members, staff, and the community. In her statement, she expressed gratitude for the trust and support of residents and said “Ballinger’s true strength lies not in its buildings or streets but in its people, whose resilience, generosity, and pride in community shine through every day.” She went on to state her devotion to Ballinger remains steadfast, even as her role changes. City officials are expected to announce next steps for filling the vacancy.
