Ballinger residents will get an early start on celebrating America’s 250th birthday later this month. The City of Ballinger is hosting a free community fireworks show Saturday, June 20 at the Ballinger City Airport.
Organizers say families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and gather at dark for what is expected to be one of the area’s largest patriotic celebrations of the year. The event is part of nationwide festivities marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, a milestone being celebrated across Texas and the nation throughout 2026.
The fireworks display is free to attend and organizers are thanking local officials, businesses and private sponsors for helping make the event possible. Community leaders say the airport setting has become a favorite gathering spot for local fireworks celebrations, offering wide-open viewing areas for spectators. The show begins at dark on Saturday, June 20.
