The City of Ballinger Street Department is getting some long-awaited equipment upgrades, with the arrival of a new motor grader and an Asphalt DraggTec.
The new equipment is expected to help city crews prepare, repair and pave streets more efficiently, allowing them to complete projects faster and move on to additional areas throughout Ballinger.
The motor grader will improve the department’s ability to grade and prepare road surfaces, while the DraggTec asphalt system will help crews spread and level asphalt more quickly and consistently.
City officials say the street department has waited a long time for these upgrades, and praise the crew for their hard work and patience.
The new equipment is expected to give Ballinger’s street crews better tools to keep city streets maintained and improve the pace of paving projects.
