The first step toward the November city election takes place Tuesday, August 26, when Ballinger officials hold a public drawing for ballot placement. The drawing begins at 10 a.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, and residents are welcome to attend.
This year’s ballot will feature races for mayor and for Council Places 1 and 2. Mayoral candidates are Darlene Kelly, current Place 1 council member, Edward Garcia, and Bob McDaniel. In the Place 1 race, Chad McDuffee faces Martin Akins, while Richard Morrish, the Place 2 incumbent, is challenged by Richard Sonnenberg, Johnny Fulton, and Rachelle Williams.
The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. City leaders encourage all voters to find out which district they live in and get to know the candidates and their vision for Ballinger’s future.
