The City of Ballinger has issued a boil water notice following a distribution line break on the main water line feeding the public water system. The break, which occurred Sunday, October 13th, caused low water pressure throughout the system. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires residents and businesses to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, hand washing, or brushing teeth. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least two minutes before cooling and using. Children, seniors, and those with weakened immune systems are especially advised to follow these precautions. As an alternative, residents may use bottled or other approved water sources until further notice.
