The City of Ballinger will temporarily change the disinfectant used in its public water system beginning June 1st. City officials say the water system will switch from chloramine to free chlorine through June 30th as part of scheduled annual maintenance. During the conversion, residents may notice slight changes in the taste or odor of their water, but officials emphasize the water will remain safe for all normal uses. The temporary switch is designed to help clean the distribution system, remove organic buildup in water lines and improve overall water quality. Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact the City of Ballinger Water Department. City officials are also asking residents to share the notice with neighbors, businesses and others who may not receive utility notifications directly.
