The most closely watched local race in Tuesday’s primary was for Runnels County Precinct One Justice of the Peace.
Paul Cummings won the Republican nomination with 617 votes, representing 67 percent of the total.
Dawni Seymore received 165 votes, or 18 percent, and Steven Scrivner finished with 136 votes, accounting for 15 percent.
A total of 918 ballots were cast in that three-way local race.
Countywide, voters also weighed in on the U.S. Senate primaries.
In the Republican contest, Senator John Cornyn led in Runnels County with 807 votes. Attorney General Ken Paxton received 484 votes, and Wesley Hunt garnered 91.
On the Democratic ballot, State Representative James Talarico received 94 votes locally, while Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett picked up 62.
Altogether, 1,615 ballots were cast in Runnels County for the March primary. Results remain unofficial pending final canvass.
