An Odessa man is dead following a motorcycle crash involving a deer in Runnels County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says 63-year-old Mickey Dale Mobley was traveling north on Farm-to-Market Road 2333 Sunday night when a deer crossed the roadway near County Road 394.
Investigators say Mobley’s motorcycle struck the animal, overturned and skidded off the roadway, ejecting the rider.
Mobley was transported to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, where he later died from his injuries.
DPS reports Mobley was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Authorities say weather and road conditions were clear. The investigation continues.
