RUNNELS COUNTY AG DAY DRAWS BIG CROWD, CELEBRATES AGRICULTURE AND COMMUNITY

A strong turnout and perfect weather highlighted the 2026 Runnels County Ag Day at the Miles Young Farmers Building in Miles.

Organizers say crowds filled the venue throughout the day, with both producers and consumers taking part in educational programs, vendor exhibits, and family-friendly activities.

Many in attendance also celebrated recent rainfall, with more than two inches recorded most of across Runnels County—welcome news for area producers.

Several honors were presented during the event. The Farm Family of the Year award went to Eli and Carol Droll. The Ag Business of the Year was awarded to Highway 67 Gin, owned by Max Kirby and Willis Taubert.

Pat Lee Scholarship awards were presented to Beth Kellermeir, daughter of John and Jill Kellermeir, and Riley Vahlenkamp, daughter of Marty and Meghan Vahlenkamp.

Attendees wrapped up the day enjoying vendor displays, educational sessions, and a meal provided by the Miles Young Farmers, making another successful celebration of agriculture in the community.
