A December audit report indicates Runnels County is entering the new year on stable financial ground. The County Auditor’s monthly review shows the General Fund closed December with more than two-point-one million dollars in available balance, after all revenues and expenses were accounted for.
Across all county funds, balances totaled nearly three-point-eight million dollars, with both income and spending closely aligned with budget projections at the four-month point of the fiscal year.
The report also shows positive balances in all four Road and Bridge precinct funds, while the Permanent Improvements Fund continues to support repairs and maintenance at the courthouse, jail, and other county facilities.
County officials say the December review reflects sound budgeting practices and careful cost control, with no significant financial concerns identified at this point in the fiscal year.
