Runnels County Voters Decide Key Local Races

Unofficial results are in from Tuesday’s elections across Runnels County.

Runnels County Elections Officer, Kelly Berry, reported 1,323 votes were cast in Tuesday’s election.

In the Ballinger Memorial Hospital District Board race, Mike Dankworth led the field with 499 votes, followed by Carolyn Little with 357, Bill Hunter with 293, and Tyler Reasor with 280.

In the City of Ballinger, Darlene Kelly was elected Mayor with 235 votes, defeating Edward Garcia with 110 and Bob McDaniel with 94.
In District 1, Martin Akins narrowly topped Chad McDuffee, 43 to 41.
And in District 2, John Fulton led with 47 votes, edging Richard Sonnenberg with 43, Richard Morrish with 22, and Rachelle Williams with 10.

In Miles, Paul Sklenarik and Janice Alexander were elected Aldermen, earning 71 and 51 votes, respectively, ahead of Kristofer Young with 23.

And in Winters, Mike Neal defeated Wesley Hagle, 41 to 25, for Alderman Place 1.
For Place 3, Jimmy Butler won with 22 votes, over Carmen Martinez with 19.

In the 17 proposed amendments on the ballot, all passed by Runnels County voters
