Texas Tech Program Offers Hope Beyond the Game

SHARE NOW

At Texas Tech University — a place many AgriPlex families are familiar with and cherished university where former Ballinger Bearcat, Spike Dykes, coached for many years  — something special is happening beyond the scoreboard at Jones AT&T Stadium.
Under the leadership of Chairman Cody Campbell, Texas Tech has launched a quiet but powerful program offering people experiencing homelessness real, well-paying jobs on game days.
Workers earn up to thirty dollars an hour handling stadium cleanup and operations, along with hot meals, warm clothing, and transportation assistance.
But more importantly, they’re given dignity, respect, and a chance to rebuild their lives.
It’s a reminder that while touchdowns matter, sometimes the biggest wins happen after the crowd goes home.
