The city of Winters is gearing up for the 23rd annual Dove Fest on Saturday, September 6. The day begins with a fun shoot at 8 a.m., followed by a barbecue lunch from 10:30 until 1:30 at the Winters Community Center. Live music from the Kickapoo Creek Band will keep the crowd entertained, and the afternoon features a big auction starting at 12:45, along with gun boards and raffles. Organizers say the Dove Fest is not only a favorite fall tradition but also an important fundraiser that helps support local projects and gives the community a big economic boost as hunting season gets underway.
