Jerome Kvapil
1941-2026
Jerome Kvapil, age 85, of San Angelo, TX, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on July 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Jerome was born on June 30, 1941, in Miles, Texas, to William (Bill) and Annie (Malish) Kvapil.

Jerome proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. In 1971, he began working for the Southern Pacific Railroad (Union Pacific) as an Engineer in Ennis, TX, until 1998. After 27 years, he returned to San Angelo, Texas.

He loved polka music and loved to dance. He loved to tease and joke with everyone and was always willing to help others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Annie Kvapil.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, LaVerne Kvapil; his son, Daryl Kvapil (Julie) of Waxahachie, TX; his daughter, Audrey Kvapil of San Angelo, TX; and his brother, Patrick Kvapil (Nancy) of Miles, TX. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Tori Kvapil of Austin, TX, and Taylor Kvapil of Waxahachie, TX, and one great-grandson, Gordon Kvapil of Waxahachie, TX. Along with nieces and nephews and extended family.

The visitation will be held at Lange Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Rosary will be held the following day, Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 11:30 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rowena, TX. Followed by burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals for the Elderly in honor of Jerome or to a charity of choice.

The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice for the care of Jerome. We would also like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during our time of sorrow.
