Juanita O’Dell
1938-2025

Juanita Bell Templeton O'Dell, born June 16, 1938, in Winters, Texas, passed away surrounded by loved ones on November 16, 2025. She was the daughter of Telitha and James Templeton. Juanita was born a triplet and, though she lost her two brothers early in life, she carried their memory with her always.

Juanita married the love of her life, Benny O'Dell, and was blessed with a large and devoted family. She is survived by her daughters Billie Lutz, Ann Foster, and her son Perry Wilkerson; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Jimmy, along with her sisters Mertal, Ella, Lucille, and Opal, and her brothers J.B., Doris, Walter, and Joe.

Juanita grew up in Winters and attended Winters Schools, where she graduated. A woman of deep faith, she was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church. After spending several years away, she returned to Winters and made it her home for the rest of her life.

A pioneer in her community, Juanita helped establish and manage the first EMT and ambulance service for Runnels County, an accomplishment that marked a significant milestone not only for the county but for women in the field of emergency services. Her commitment to service and her courage opened doors for many who followed.

Juanita was also a dedicated member of Living Waters Church of God, where she taught Adult Sunday School for many years. Her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and willingness to help others touched countless lives.

She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, devotion to family, and her unwavering belief in serving others. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she impacted.

A memorial service will be held soon, and details will be shared with family and friends.
