Peggy Oats, 84, of Winters passed away Monday, January 26, 2026.
She was born July 6, 1941 in Winters to Guy and Lucretia Oats. She was a lifelong resident of Winters and graduated from Winters High School. She worked for Winn's Variety Store, Dry's Manufacturing, and the Surplus Store before finding her career in the prison system as a security guard where she later retired.
Peggy loved word searches, and enjoyed bowling and arts and crafts, including making braided keychains. She also loved joining her sister, Betty, at Christmas time to make various Christmas candies, including divinity and chocolate fudge.
She is survived by her sister Betty Grenwelge of Winters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Lakeview Cemetery.
