The City of Ballinger is reminding residents about proper disposal of furniture, mattresses, and other bulk items as part of an effort to keep neighborhoods clean and safe.
City officials say bulk items may not be left at the curb for more than three days. After that time, the items become a code violation and could result in Municipal Court fines.
The City offers curbside bulk pickup during designated Spring and Fall Cleanup events. Officials also note that Republic Services does not provide bulk furniture pickup in alleys beside dumpsters, and placing large items in those areas is considered illegal dumping.
Residents who need help disposing of bulk items are encouraged to contact the City, which says resources and recycling options are available
