O.H. Ivie Lake, just outside Ballinger, has reeled in national attention—ranked the No. 2 bass fishing lake in the country by Bassmaster for 2025. Known for producing trophy-sized catches, the West Texas reservoir recorded 30 Toyota ShareLunker bass over 8 pounds in the first four months of this year—seven of them topping 13 pounds.

The lake, fed by the Colorado and Concho Rivers, has become a favorite among serious anglers, earning top-three national rankings each of the past four years. Texas’ Lake Fork also landed in the top 10 at No. 3, while California’s Clear Lake took the top spot.
