SAFE ROOM REBATE PROGRAM AVAILABLE FOR AREA RESIDENTS

SHARE NOW

Residents across the Big Country and Concho Valley now have help paying for storm shelters.
The West Central Texas Council of Governments has secured a FEMA grant to offer a Residential Safe Room and Storm Shelter Rebate Program.

The program reimburses 50 percent of installation costs, up to three-thousand dollars, for privately owned residential safe rooms or storm shelters. Eligible homes must be owner-occupied, outside FEMA floodplains, and located in one of nineteen counties, including Runnels County.

The grant is designed to improve safety during tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. Community-wide shelters are not included.
