WEATHER CHANGE BRINGS INCREASED RATTLESNAKE ACTIVITY

SHARE NOW

Rattlesnakes are beginning to move across West Texas as warmer temperatures signal the start of their active season. Residents should watch carefully around woodpiles, tall grass, rocks, porches and outdoor equipment. Wear boots and gloves when working outside, keep yards trimmed and never place your hands where you cannot see. Pet owners should also check yards before letting animals outside. If you encounter a rattlesnake, keep your distance and do not attempt to capture or kill it. Anyone bitten should call 911 immediately and seek emergency medical treatment.
