Andrew Frank Lange, 89, of Rowena, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

He was born on February 27, 1936, to Frank and Isabella (Dierschke) Lange on the family farm east of Rowena. Andrew served honorably in the United States Armed Forces, first in the Texas National Guard and then for two years in the U.S. Army. Enlisting in Coleman, Texas, in 1957. While in the Army, he served as the computer operator for the Nike AJAT Missile System. He was stationed in Germany as a member of Battery D of the 67th Missile System.

On July 6, 1957, he married the love of his life, Helen Halfmann, in Olfen, Texas. Together, they shared 67 years of beautiful memories. Andrew was a farmer for his entire life, except for the two years he spent serving in the Army. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rowena for most of his life, where he served as a eucharistic minister and usher. Andrew was a member of the Knights of Columbus, holding the rank of 3rd and 4th degree. He also served on the St. Joseph School Board and the Parish Council on several occasions. Together with Helen, they also taught CCD, enriching the lives of countless children in their church community. He also served faithfully on the Catholic Life Insurance Board as the Director of District I, past District Director of Federal Land Bank of San Angelo, and in the American Legion.

Andrew is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Isabella Lange, and his four sisters: Edna Schaefer, Elaine Pelzel, Bernice Gully, Mae Dell Schaefer and brother, David Lange.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Helen, his son John Lange and wife Amy of Miles, Texas, and son Daniel Lange and wife Angie of Ballinger, Texas. Andrew will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Jacob Lange and wife Lauren, Johanna Lange, Macy Allard and husband Nick, and Megan Lange. Great-grandchildren Jarett and Kennli Lange.

A rosary for Andrew will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 6:00 pm, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 10:00 am. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Ariel Lagunilla celebrating and Father Greg Gerhart will be co-celebrating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Building Fund or Cemetery Fund in Andrew's honor or a charity of choice.
