1945-2026

Rogelio "Roy" Vargas Campos, 81, of Winters passed away July 10, 2026. He was born January 7, 1945 in Nuevo Rosita, Mexico to Eusebio and Vartola Campos. He moved to Piedras Negras, Mexico as a young boy where he grew up. He married Maria Helen Gonzales on March 7, 1968.

Rogelio worked in several different industries, learning to work hard for his money as a young boy in Mexico. He was a licensed plumber in Mexico, before moving to Texas. Once in Texas, he worked for General Aviation before working for Dry's Manufacturing for a number of years. He then worked for Poole Oilfield, and Bert Humble in the Pecan Orchard until it went out of business, then worked several jobs for farmers in the area. He was a hardworking father.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Rico Campos. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maria Campos; children: Elma Campos, Gilbert Campos and wife Tina, Norma Arispe, and Albert Campos; brother Nucco Campos; grandchildren: Angelica Perkins and husband Clifford, Ysenia Flores, Aracelie Flores, Alonso Flores, Anastasia DeLaCruz, Brandon Bentrup, Tia Campos Beltran and husband Sal, Tara Campos, Tori Campos, Talia Campos, Nicco Arispe, Elias Arispe, Sarah Campos, Albert Campos, Jr.; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Winters Funeral Home.
