Runnels County 4-H and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office are reminding youth livestock exhibitors to complete their Quality Counts certification ahead of upcoming show deadlines.
The online program teaches responsible animal care and emphasizes character and ethical decision-making in livestock projects. Exhibitors only need to complete the course once per grade division — junior, intermediate, or senior — but each participant must register with a unique email to receive their certification number.
Officials say the training is required for all major livestock show entries, and exhibitors must finish the course before entry deadlines. In Runnels County, a parent or guardian is also required to complete the training.
Enrollment details are available through the Texas Youth Livestock website.
