Boil Water Notice For Winters Citizens

SHARE NOW

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has issued a boil water notice for all customers of the City of Winters public water system. The advisory comes after a water valve replacement, which may have introduced harmful bacteria into the water supply.

City officials urge all residents to boil water before consumption, including for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing hands and face. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least two minutes. Vulnerable individuals — including children, seniors, and those with weakened immune systems — are especially at risk.

As an alternative, residents may use bottled water or another safe water source. The City of Winters will notify the public once the water is confirmed safe and the boil notice is lifted.
