The City of Winters is urging residents to be on alert after Animal Control and the Winters Police Department responded to two incidents this week involving extremely sick wild animals. Officials warn that animals infected with rabies may act strangely, including walking in circles, showing unusual aggression, or being active during daytime hours when they are normally nocturnal. Residents are strongly advised not to approach wild animals and to keep pets’ rabies vaccinations up to date. Anyone observing suspicious wildlife behavior is asked to contact Winters Animal Control at 325-754-4424 or 325-754-4121.
