City Park Splashpad Upgrades

SHARE NOW

Ballinger residents will soon have more time to cool off, as work is underway on a new fence around the city’s splash pad. City officials say the upgrade will allow the splash pad to operate independently from the pool, meaning it can stay open even when the pool is closed.

The improvement is expected to significantly extend access during the warmer months—potentially giving families nearly ten months of use each year in West Texas.

The splash pad has been a popular attraction since its original opening, especially during peak summer heat, often drawing families looking for a safe and affordable way to beat the temperatures.

Officials say the feature will still close during colder months, but the added flexibility is a major step forward. The city is thanking Park Board members and staff for helping move the project ahead.

Updates on the splash pad and pool openings are expected soon.
