Meals For The Elderly in San Angelo is reminding residents of Miles that free, home-delivered meals and support services are available for homebound seniors and disabled adults. The program serves Tom Green, Concho, and Irion counties — and includes the city of Miles — but officials say many eligible residents still don’t realize they qualify.
The organization provides weekday, nutritionally-balanced lunchtime meals at no cost, delivered by trained volunteers who also offer a daily check-in and friendly contact. Recipients receive frozen breakfast sacks on Mondays, Friday sack lunches with weekend snacks, birthday gifts, and emergency meal bags twice a year for use during severe weather. Seasonal heaters, fans, and access to case managers are also part of the program.
Qualified clients may receive supplemental pet food, milk and bread, incontinence supplies, and nutritional supplements.
Meals For The Elderly prepares and delivers more than 600 meals each day. Residents in Miles can apply or learn more by contacting Meals For The Elderly in San Angelo.
