The Ballinger High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams are headed to the UIL Region II Meet after strong showings at district.
The Bearcat boys captured the district championship, while the Lady Bearcats placed as the runner up for the district crown and secured their regional berth. Both teams will compete at the Region II Cross Country Championships, set for October 20th and 21st at Harold Patterson Sports Complex in Arlington.
At regionals, only the top four teams and top ten individual runners not on advancing teams will qualify for the UIL State Meet, scheduled for October 31st and November 1st at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
Coaches say the athletes are training hard and hope to continue Ballinger’s winning momentum on the regional stage.
