1969-2026
Cecilia Rios Fuentes, 56, of Ballinger, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday, July 20, 2026.
She was born on Friday, August 1, 1969, to Isabel Gomez and Refujia Parra (Rios) Fuentes in Ballinger, Texas. Cecilia was a kind and gentle soul, soft-spoken, but had a smile that could light up a room. Even though she struggled with health issues, she trusted in the Lord and fought a good fight. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas.
Cecilia worked at Gerber, Taylor's, and Tres Amigos for many years. She took great pride in her work and remained dedicated until her health gradually declined, forcing her to retire due to medical issues.
Above all, Cecilia was a loving sister and an extraordinary aunt. She was always there for her nieces and nephews, never hesitating to babysit, lend a helping hand, or offer her unwavering love and support. She loved each of them unconditionally and cherished every moment spent with them. They lovingly knew her as "YaYa," a name that will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Being surrounded by her nieces and nephews brought Cecilia her greatest joy.
Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, Isabel and Refujia Fuentes; and her grandparents, Isabel Fuentes Sr. and Enedina Fuentes.
She is survived by her brothers, Martin Fuentes (Christy), Mario Fuentes, Francisco Fuentes and Robert Fuentes; her sister, Monica Fuentes; her nieces, Kaitlyn Joyce, Ashlanne Fuentes, and Abby Fuentes; and her nephews, Andrew Fuentes, Samuel Fuentes, and Aiden Fuentes.
A rosary for Cecilia will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 9:30 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen, Texas. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately after, with Father Ariel Lagunilla celebrating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Cecilia’s honor.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Central Texas Nursing Home and Rehab, Gentiva Hospice, and Centex Rehab for the compassionate care and support they provided to Cecilia during her illness.
