Ballinger Police Issue Warning About Traffic Notice Scam

SHARE NOW

The Ballinger Police Department is alerting residents to a scam involving fraudulent traffic violation notices circulating in the area.

Officials say the notices appear to come from a municipal court and claim recipients owe money for unpaid tolls or parking violations. The documents warn of enforcement action and urge immediate payment, sometimes directing victims to scan a QR code.

Police emphasize the notices are not legitimate and are not connected to any local or state court.

Residents are urged not to respond, provide personal information, send money or scan any codes tied to the message. Instead, they should delete the notice and block the sender.

Anyone with questions or who may have received the scam can contact the Ballinger Police Department at 325-365-3591.

Authorities say the warning is part of an effort to keep the community informed and prevent residents from becoming victims of fraud.
