The Runnels County Historical Commission is inviting the public to explore local history this weekend with a guided tour of Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger.
The event is scheduled for Saturday morning at 9:30, with participants meeting at the cemetery’s main entrance along U.S. 67 southwest of town.
Organizers say the tour will highlight historical markers, veterans’ graves, and the resting places of notable figures connected to the area. Evergreen Cemetery dates back to 1890 and is one of dozens of burial sites across Runnels County.
Transportation around the grounds will be available, and water will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring cameras.
The event will wrap up with a group lunch at a local restaurant.
