Runnels County 4-H Roundup

SHARE NOW

Runnels County 4-H members will soon gather for the annual County 4-H Round-Up, an event that highlights the knowledge, skills and leadership young people develop through the youth organization.

Round-Up serves as a local qualifying event where 4-H members present projects and compete in contests that may include educational presentations, food and nutrition challenges, livestock and agriculture knowledge, consumer decision making and other project-based competitions.

The event  is part of the larger 4-H youth development program coordinated through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. The program allows students in grades three through 12 to gain experience in agriculture, public speaking, leadership and community service.

Top competitors at the county level may advance to district and potentially state Round-Up competitions, where students compete in dozens of events designed to test real-world knowledge and practical skills.

Local extension officials say the annual Round-Up not only rewards project work completed during the year but also helps prepare students for future academic and career opportunities.
