RUNNELS COUNTY 4-H AND FFA MEMBERS EARN TOP HONORS AT MAJOR STOCK SHOWS

Runnels County 4-H students are racking up big wins and big scholarship money at major Texas livestock shows.

At the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Olivia Bean finished second in the Sheep Skillathon, earning a 2-thousand-dollar scholarship, while Wyatt Woner placed fifth in his first year of competition. Kaylee Scott claimed a 10-thousand-dollar scholarship as winner of the Equine Skillathon. Zayden Boone placed fourth in the Taxidermy Contest.

In San Angelo, Kenya Boone and Braden Hoppe finished third and fourth in the Beef Skillathon at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo.

Olivia Bean also won her calf scramble heat, with Luke Bean placing third, both advancing to the scholarship round.

And a big congratulations to the senior Food Challenge team of Paysley Branham, Evan Cave, Liz Minzenmayer, and Olivia Bean—Grand Champions, earning a 20-thousand-dollar scholarship to share.

This impressive showing proves you don’t have to lead an animal into the ring to make a big impact at a major stock show. From skillathons to food challenge and scholarship scrambles, these young men and women are showcasing the knowledge, work ethic, and leadership that define Runnels County agriculture. Their success reflects countless hours of preparation—and a very bright future ahead for the next generation of ag leaders
