Officials across Texas are warning drivers about a fast-spreading scam involving fake court documents designed to look official.

Victims are receiving so-called “Final Enforcement Notices” claiming they owe money for tolls, speeding tickets or parking violations. The notices appear to come from Harris County courts and even include a state seal, case numbers and legal language.

Authorities say the documents are fraudulent and meant to pressure people into making immediate payments through QR codes or links — something real courts do not use.

Scammers often threaten license suspension or claim enforcement is already active.

Residents are urged not to scan codes, click links or send money. Instead, verify any notice directly with the court or toll agency.

Officials say the scam is spreading quickly across Texas.
