Ballinger is set for a full day of celebration this Saturday, April 25th, as the 51st Annual Texas State Festival of Ethnic Cultures takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Runnels County Courthouse lawn.
The free event features food booths representing a variety of cultures, arts and crafts vendors, live entertainment, and activities for the whole family.
The Carnegie Library will also host a Historical Home Tour and quilt raffle. Wristbands are 15 dollars for adults, children 12 and under free, and must be purchased in advance at the library, with no sales at tour homes.
The Mid-West Texas Artist’s Guild invites the public to an open house from 10-6 on Friday and Saturday 10 to 4 at their studio at 109 South 9th Street, showcasing local talent.
And after the festival, the City of Ballinger Fire Department keeps the fun going with a free movie night at 106 North 9th Street, in the parking lot behind the fire station. Families can enjoy free popcorn, chopped brisket sandwiches, hot dogs and water while supplies last. The movie begins at dusk—so bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and your favorite snacks, and settle in for a relaxing evening under the stars.
